Overview

University of Maryland Hematology/Oncology:

The University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center is currently seeking two positions to join its faculty team.  The first is a medical oncologist to serve as Director of Head and Neck Medical Oncology. The second is for an academic solid tumor medical oncologist.

Director of Head and Neck Medical Oncology (Position 3-309-950):

The ideal candidate for this position should be a board certified medical oncologist with a strong track record of clinical or basic investigation in head and neck cancer.  The University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Comprehensive Cancer Center and the affiliated hospitals of the University of Maryland Cancer Network treat more than 350 patients with head and neck cancer annually. The head and neck cancer team consists of five head and neck surgical oncologists, three oral maxillofacial surgeons and three radiation oncologists supported by a state-of-the-art proton therapy center. Head and neck cancer research interests include tumor immunology and immunotherapy, vaccine development, human papilloma virus, health disparities and cancer epidemiology.   Expected rank for this position is Associate Professor or higher, however, rank and tenure status is dependent on candidate¿s qualifications.  Qualified applicants should apply online at:  https://umb.taleo.net/careersection/jobdetail.ftl?job=1800002N&lang=en  Please submit a current CV and names of four (4) references when submitting your application.

Academic Solid Tumor Medical Oncologist (Position 3-309-951):

The essential functions of the position include inpatient/outpatient consultations and longitudinal patient care, teaching and possible mentoring of Hematology/Oncology fellows, residents and medical students.  Active participation in clinical research is expected.  Furthermore, candidates with a strong interest and or published literature relating to conducting clinical/translational research are preferred.  Therapeutic clinical trials as well as many correlative studies are supported by the UMGCCC Clinical Trials Office. Interaction with basic and translational scientists is strongly encouraged. 

Additional leadership responsibilities within the cancer center are possible based on the candidate¿s interest and expertise.
