Overview

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) is recruiting for two members to join our Maternal Fetal Division.

Job Responsibilities and Department Details:

  • Consultative services
  • Clinical supervision of residents and medical students
  • Clinical research
  • Participate in the resident educational program
  • Other duties as required
  • The Division includes: 6 faculty members, 14 sonographers, 5 genetic counselors.
  • The Department includes:  28 faculty representing all sub-specialties and 24 residents

Job Requirements:

  • Qualification for a full-time faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level
  • Proven clinical skills in management of high-risk pregnancies
  • Work to assist the division to develop innovative clinical pathways
  • Interpersonal skills to act as an effective consultant
  • All candidates must be board eligible or certified in obstetrics and gynecology, completed an ABOG approved MFM fellowship, and meet the requirements for medical licensure in North Carolina.

  • 874 licensed beds
  • The largest research hospital in the region
  • Medical education oversees 303 residents and fellows
  • Resources to care for women with high-risk pregnancies includes medical and surgical intensive care units, interventional radiology, pediatric surgery, pediatric cardiology, and a high-risk antepartum unit.
  • The staff of the 85 bed neonatal intensive care unit offers comprehensive neonatal care for more than 1,000 infants/year.
  • In 2015, there were 7,264 deliveries, 40% categorized as high-risk.
