Cape Fear Valley Health is seeking a Bariatric Surgery Medical Director to lead our established hospital-based bariatrics program.

Cape Fear Valley Health’s Bariatric Program is an established, thriving outpatient program that offers weight loss management including Bariatric Surgery, medical weight management, education, medication initiation, managing medication and vitamin levels for post-op Bariatric Surgery, pre and post operative support, exercise physiology and dietary planning. The office provides a comprehensive, team-based approach which includes certified Bariatric Coordinators / Navigators, Mental Health Counselors, Registered Dietitians, and Clinical Practitioners and Hospital Based Bariatric Case Managers. Physician candidates should have great leadership skills and work well with all members of the care team. This position will treat adult patients and enjoy access to sub-specialty care in our communities. This position will engage on a regular basis with community outreach initiatives, education and marketing endeavors for the program and health system.

The selected candidate will primarily work with patients in the outpatient setting /OR and participate in General Surgery Call. The schedule for this full-time opportunity is Monday – Friday.

Interested candidates should be Board Certified, hold a North Carolina license and DEA, and hold ACLS and BLS certifications. Training and/or certification in Bariatric, Metabolic Weight Loss is highly preferred.
